2008 GAYVN Awards winner for Best Screenplay: Jerry Douglas.
When Jerry Douglas deigns to make a masterpiece, he does just that. Brotherhood is, without a doubt, one of the best fuck flicks of 2007, due in no small measure to Douglas' skill as a director. All the elements of fine porn are here – top notch videography, a diverse and well assembled cast, and a story line that sets the right tone without getting in the way of the sex.Take a look at the DVD sleeve, a dozen or so fraternity men duded up for a class picture, a bare-chested Danny Roddick in the foreground. There's not a dud in the pack, and all the various body types are well represented here. There's porn veterans like the humpy Dean Phoenix working alongside newbies like the bespectacled Justin Burkshire and Kurt Wild. But it's really Roddick's flick. He plays a college boy moonlighting in the porn biz to supplement his scholarship. Not all of Roddick's frat buds are gay-friendly; one even goes so far as to threaten Roddick anonymously.
Not one to be backed into a corner, Roddick hatches a not-so-clever (albeit sexy) plan to uncover the one brother who's threatening him; plenty of sly sex ensues. Every scene is a winner here, but there are some encounters that steam their way to the top of the pile. A personal favorite features Trey Casteel and Sebastian Rivers. Both are hairy dudes, but Casteel's character is tasked with shaving his chest, balls, and hole at his girlfriend's request. Roddick coyly suggests that Casteel let Rivers do the shaving… while Roddick takes photos. Anyone with a shaving fetish will be in seventh heaven. Rivers even strips out of his sweaty jockstrap to soak up some of the leftover shaving cream oozing from Casteel's newly shorn asshole, which is then followed by some particularly nasty rimming and fucking.
Another stunning scene has Wild and Burkshire, two lean and smooth dudes, playing bookish frat nerds. It's not clear if they're supposed to be playing actual brothers (they look very much alike, right down to their geeky glasses) but whatever Douglas intended, it works.
Everything eventually leads to the finale, all the brothers congregating together for a little group lovin'. Don't miss some spectacular anal action, Dean Monroe setting off some spectacular fireworks with bottom blonde, Tory Mason. (This encounter comes not long after a scorching snapshot where Monroe shoots his spunk down his own throat…).
While the DVD extras are not over-the-top spectacular, the optional director/model commentary, Roddick chatting with Jerry Douglas about different elements of the film, is a welcome bonus.
