The best reason to get your paws on Freshwave's What Goes Around is hot bottom Dean Monroe. Filmed in 2004 before he really made a big splash over at Falcon Studios, it's obvious why Monroe rose to the head of the class as a superstar porn model. He appears at the top and bottom of the film, and as both a top and a bottom. Clever, indeed.
The plot device used in this film is actually well executed and smart. Dean Monroe sets the film in motion, playing a businessman who orders in (Daniel Leger) when struck with a case of the hornies. The opening sequence, Leger servicing his client on the company tab, is one of the more erotic vignettes in the entire film. Here, Monroe is rather understated as a bottom, not performing at quite the same level as the dildo-crazed web worker in Up All Night. But he still steals this show, oozing sensuality right down to a single raised eyebrow.
Leger paid and on his way, the viewer picks up his story as he dashes from his escorting gig to his bartending gig. There, he serves a bottle-blond twink (Spike) with a fat prick. The two trick after the bar closes. After the cumshots, we now leave with the blond. This plot device runs its course until the tricking comes back again to Monroe.
Not every snippet of sex is worth raving about. The models are, by and large, smooth and slender 20-somethings who perform eagerly in front of the camera. What Goes Around scores big points for creativity however, thoroughly shaking up the tried and true by filming in all different sorts of locations – in the loo, on the front lawn, the bathhouse, in a hotel or back alley.
There are some standouts in the crowd of models, most notably Chip, a bald-headed street tough who first tricks on the Heath before heading back to London for his regular gig as a male stripper. He makes an excellent top (probably the film's best) and has enough attitude for the entire cast. Also worth keeping an eye out for is Benjamin Web, here playing Dean Monroe's boyfriend and the stud who brings the film full circle. The final tryst, Web coming home to Monroe, is the standout scene in the film, definitely worth wading through everything else to watch.
