15: Time Out Training

Time Out Training

I recently watched the fabulous Julian Vincenzo in Footballers, a Studio 2000 release, and was inspired by his coaching skills to write an article on how to train your player in avoiding the bench and getting knocked into time out.

Time Out: Penalty For Your Player

Penalties are suffered by athletes in organized events for misbehavior all the time. These players have to sit the game out and sometimes owe fines for their wrong doing. It's a part of the game, they know their actions make them VIP status or players who have a bad reputation. Why don't bad men and women suffer the same? Think about it, isolation from the fun reminds the player he or she has to play by the rules or else they will be faced with additional isolation. When you feel it's time for your player to spend some time in Spring training camp, here are a few training tips to get you going.

Time out

A short period of social isolation serves as a wonderful penalty, especially for those of you who cannot say no. Sometimes saying no can make the person feel disrespected, and even has a dominating tone to it, when that is not your purpose in serving the penalty. Isolation from the "game" Behaviors that your player may do to warrant a time out are physical foul plays. Rough handling, biting and yelling (when that's not what you are into) are all time out deserving behaviors.

When To Time Out

Time outs should ONLY be delivered when your player is acting out the specific penalty you want he or she to know they need to stop. Don't isolate your player for other issues such as he forgot to compliment you, or she forgot to pick milk up on the way home. We are speaking directly to you who need to settle the rough handling and other physical boundaries your player is crossing.

Where The Penalty is Served

This is obvious, this penalty earned time out is served outside of the bedroom. A bite that's too hard that you have told him or her not to do it again one time before... time out. A nipple squeezed to a hurting point... time out. A slap on the ass that you weren't in the mood fortime out. You need to decide what moves your player makes which constitutes isolation.

Location Location Location!

Your player is not under the same spotlight as the players of a national ball team are so remember this when serving your punishment. Don't do this in public, this is humiliating and really a private matter between you and your VIP in training.

Penalty Phrase

Choose a few bench mark words that will clue your player in that a time out penalty is about to be earned. "Stop," is the best word that has shown success in training. "Stop" is a command that is not seen as a threat word or a dominating one. It's simply a warning and queue to move on to something else. Think of your penalty phrase and use it every single time. Repetition is key and you will have a gold winning player before you know it!
